DreamStart Labs is a social impact fintech building technology for communities historically left out of the formal financial system. We design simple, intuitive digital tools that help people save, plan, and build pathways to financial opportunity — no matter where they live or what connectivity they have.
We are headquartered in the United States and operate globally across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
No. We are a mission-driven, for-profit social enterprise with a public benefit mandate. Our business model allows us to scale sustainably while remaining accountable to the communities we serve.
Being a PBC means our legal structure requires us to balance shareholder interests with the wellbeing of customers, communities, employees, and partners. Impact is not an add-on — it’s written into our charter.
Our public benefit purpose centers on expanding financial inclusion for underserved communities, designing technology that protects dignity, and contributing to economic opportunity in the places where we operate.
We collaborate with NGOs, financial institutions, development agencies, government programs, and research institutions looking to scale financial inclusion and community development.
Yes. While many of our partnerships are in Africa and Asia, our platform is globally accessible to any organization running community finance programs, requiring only a quick setup for each new country.
We follow a strict privacy-by-design framework, ensuring personal information is encrypted, stored securely, and handled with consent at every step. Our systems align with global data protection standards.
No. We do not sell or monetize user data. Member information is used solely to operate and improve our products. Aggregated and anonymized data may be used for research, reporting, or shared with partners and donors to demonstrate program impact.
We apply transparency, consent, secure storage, and limited access control as core principles. Our tools are built to protect vulnerable users, not expose them.
We work with NGOs running savings group programs, financial service providers designing inclusive products, government ministries scaling national initiatives, and research organizations studying financial inclusion.
Partners receive onboarding support, program planning guidance, training resources, and access to our Customer Success team to ensure smooth rollout and adoption.
Yes. Our ecosystem is built for scale, whether it’s hundreds of groups in one region or tens of thousands across multiple countries.
Our team is global, mission-driven, and deeply collaborative. We value empathy, accountability, field experience, and the humility to design with communities, not for them.
Yes. Our team spans multiple continents, and remote collaboration is a core part of how we operate.
Current opportunities are shared across our social channels.

DreamSave is a digital record-keeping app designed for informal savings groups. It helps members securely track savings, loans, social funds, fines, and meeting activity, all without paper ledgers. It also builds the financial data groups need to access formal financial services.
DreamSave is built for savings groups of every kind, village savings groups, youth groups, farmer collectives, refugee communities, church groups, and any community practicing rotating or accumulating savings and loans. It is also used by NGOs, financial institutions, and governments running large-scale financial inclusion programs.
DreamSave currently supports 20+ languages, including English, French, Spanish, Swahili, Amharic, Chichewa, Bengali, Arabic, Khmer, and several local African and Asian languages.
Savings groups have always been powerful, but paper records limit what’s possible. DreamSave was created to bring structure, accuracy, and dignity to community finance, giving groups reliable records, strengthening trust, and opening pathways to credit and opportunity.
DreamSave runs on Android devices with Android 9 (Pie) or later, ideally with 32–64GB storage and 4,000–5,000 mAh battery capacity for long days in the field. The app also works well on basic Android smartphones used in rural areas.
Yes. DreamSave is fully functional offline. Groups can run entire meeting cycles without internet. Once a connection becomes available, the app automatically syncs group data to the cloud.
Yes. The app automates all calculations, including interest, fines, fees, social funds, and end-of-cycle payouts, reducing errors and simplifying complex arithmetic.
Yes. The app allows groups to set rules, savings amounts, interest rates, fines, loan limits, share-out terms and enforces those rules automatically.
Yes. Every transaction becomes a digital footprint. Over time, this creates a credit profile that can be shared with financial institutions via our DreamLink platform.
Yes. DreamSave tracks overdue loans, repayment dates, and outstanding balances, making it easier for groups to stay accountable.
Yes. The app is completely free for groups to download and use. There are no subscription fees and no hidden charges.
DreamSave is used in 37 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, including Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Ghana, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Guatemala, Honduras, and more.
NGOs, MFIs, INGOs, donor agencies, and government ministries can deploy DreamSave nationally or regionally. DreamStart Labs provides implementation support, training materials, onboarding guidance, and data access through DreamInsights.
DreamSave uses encrypted cloud storage, secure offline caching, and strict privacy controls. Group data belongs to the group, and nothing is shared with third parties without consent.
Groups receive training through facilitators or partners. After training, they set up their constitution, register members, and begin recording savings and loans. Most groups complete onboarding in one meeting cycle.
Because DreamSave syncs to the cloud, all data can be restored on a new device using the group login credentials.
Yes. DreamSave works for youth groups (ages 13 & above), refugee communities, farmer associations, and mixed-age savings groups. The app adapts to any group structure.
Yes. Groups can select weekly, monthly, bi-weekly, or custom meeting schedules.

DreamInsights (formerly DreamSave Insights) is a web-based analytics platform that brings together the data recorded in the DreamSave app. It gives partners a clear, organised view of how their savings groups are growing — from savings activity to repayment habits, attendance trends, demographics, and overall group stability.
DreamInsights is designed for NGOs, MFIs, government agencies, and multi-country development programs managing large clusters of savings groups and needing a transparent way to track performance at scale.
Not exactly. It complements them. Field teams still interact with groups, while Insights acts as the data backbone that validates what staff see on the ground with measurable, reliable patterns
DreamInsights updates approximately every 24 hours, depending on when groups sync their DreamSave data. This ensures partners see timely information even when groups operate in low-connectivity areas.
DreamInsights provides visibility into:
- savings and loan activity
- overdue and delinquent loans
- share-out trends
- attendance and meeting consistency
- social fund usage
- demographic and gender data
- group maturity indicators
- geographic distribution and density of groups
Partners can explore dashboards for country and regional project summaries, financial performance, behavioural insights, group health indicators, cycle monitoring, and donor-facing reporting.
Yes. You can export full datasets or filtered views in Excel for reporting, evaluation, or further analysis.
Yes. DreamInsights was built for scale, from hundreds to tens of thousands of groups across multiple countries.
Once a partner begins digitising groups with DreamSave, the DreamStart Labs team creates their Insights workspace. From there, designated admins can add users across departments and regions.
Yes. DreamInsights supports multiple access tiers — from program leads and country managers to field staff — ensuring each user sees what is relevant to their role.
No. The platform is designed for low-to-moderate bandwidth environments, making it accessible for teams working in rural or remote locations.
All sensitive data is encrypted, anonymised when necessary, and stored using global security standards. DreamStart Labs follows strict privacy-by-design principles across all products.
Yes. Group data only appears in DreamInsights when members provide explicit consent within the DreamSave app during setup.
Data is stored securely using trusted global cloud providers with 24/7 monitoring, redundancy, and ongoing compliance standards.

DreamLink is a digital bridge that connects trusted savings groups to formal financial institutions. It turns the records captured in DreamSave into a verified financial profile that banks and MFIs can recognise, evaluate, and build products around — opening pathways to credit, insurance, and other financial services.
DreamLink is designed for financial institutions seeking responsible market expansion, NGOs and MFIs supporting community finance, governments running national inclusion programs, and savings groups ready to access formal credit once they meet eligibility standards.
No. It strengthens them. Field teams continue their support, while DreamLink supplies the verified data required to accelerate onboarding, reduce paperwork, and improve risk assessment.
Groups must have consistent digital records in DreamSave, demonstrate stable repayment patterns, meet institution-specific criteria, and give full consent to share their data before they can be linked.
DreamLink receives structured group data directly from DreamSave. Records are cleaned, formatted, and analysed to create a digital credit profile recognised by partner financial institutions.
DreamLink verifies a group’s Digital Credit Profile, shares approved information with financial institutions, simplifies onboarding processes, supports KYC verification, enables responsible credit access, and offers a structured channel for communication between institutions and groups.
Institutions receive group and individual-level information such as savings trends, repayment behaviour, meeting consistency, demographic summaries, and indicators of maturity, without exposing private member details unless members consent.
DreamLink is currently in pilot and under active development to support cross-country programs and national financial inclusion agendas. It is designed for deployment in any region where DreamSave operates.
Yes. DreamLink is strictly opt-in. Groups choose whether to share their data with partner financial institutions, and can withdraw consent at any time.
All data shared through DreamLink is encrypted, securely stored, and anonymised when needed, following global privacy standards and DreamStart Labs’ privacy-by-design principles.
Institutions partner with DreamStart Labs to define eligibility criteria, set up integration workflows, align onboarding processes, and train their teams on how to use the platform effectively.
NGOs and MFIs continue to support groups with training, mobilisation, and supervision. DreamLink gives them an evidence-based way to help high-performing groups access additional opportunities.
Yes. Once approved, groups can receive loans or financial services directly from the partner institution following their standard procedures.
DreamLink itself is not a lender. Repayment agreements, risk management, and follow-up procedures remain under the institution’s policies.
Savings groups must first digitise their activities using DreamSave. Financial institutions and NGOs can contact the DreamStart Labs team to discuss linkage opportunities, country readiness, and integration requirements.
Interested partners can reach out directly or email info@dreamstartlabs.com to schedule a demonstration of DreamLink.
